Abortion Procedure FAQs
Questions about surgical abortion methods and side effects? We can help.
What do I need to know before an abortion?
If you are considering a surgical procedure abortion, get the answers you need to make an informed choice. Learn about what to expect before and after an abortion, what risks are involved with each method, and receive a free ultrasound from us. An ultrasound can determine the methods and types of abortions and how far along you are.
What determines the cost of an abortion?
Abortion costs are determined by several factors, including but not limited to:
-
The abortion method
-
Gestation (how far along you are)
-
Single or multiple pregnancies
Vacuum aspiration, D&C, and D&E are the most commonly performed abortion procedures.
Does an abortion hurt?
Abortion side effects vary from person to person and can depend on the procedure. Pain can include mild or intense cramping, nausea or vomiting, and pain due to uterine contractions. During an aspiration abortion, some women describe a pulling sensation. Women are given pain medication to manage side effects.
